ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Mark Pulla was born and raised in Toronto and was first intrigued by
hand percussion through Latin and ballroom dancing. As an avid dancer and
listener of salsa music, he was immediately drawn to the organic sound of the conga drum, typically the central component of any Latin percussion big band
section. With no prior intentions of pursuing drumming at any level, Mark
began his journey about 7 years ago under the mentorship of international
percussionist, Mr. Joaquin Nunez, an extraordinary musician of Cuban descent who has performed with The Canadian Tenors, Paul Anka, Sarah McLaughlin
and Zucchero, to mention a few. Since then, Mark has expanded his hand
percussion repertoire to include the congas, bongos, cajon, and djembe.
Today, Mark continues to perform at corporate functions, weddings, gala
events and fundraisers all over the city as a soloist as well as in duo, trio
and big band ensembles.
